Originally from Leeton, Courtney has spent the past 5 years in Canberra, dedicating herself to work and studies. Her professional journey began as a paralegal at a boutique family law firm in Canberra, where she gained invaluable experience for over 18 months. This paved the way for her role as an Associate to a Judge of the Federal Circuit and Family Court of Australia (Division 2).
In 2022, Courtney successfully completed a double degree at the esteemed Australian National University, earning a Bachelor of Laws (Honours) and a Bachelor of Criminology (LLB/BCRIM). Furthering her legal education, she recently obtained my Graduate Diploma of Legal Practice (GDLP) through the College of Law. The culmination of her hard work came to fruition when she was admitted as a lawyer of the Supreme Court of NSW in July 2023.
Her passion for law ignited during high school, leading her to pursue a career in this field. The opportunity to utilise her education, skills, and unwavering dedication to assist others has always been her driving force. Courtney aspires to advocate for those who cannot do so themselves, making a meaningful impact in their lives. Law, with its complexities, presents a challenging yet fulfilling avenue to achieve this goal.
While the law is an inevitable part of everyone's lives, accessing legal services can be a daunting process, particularly for certain communities. Courtney aims to leverage the expertise and knowledge she has gained from working and studying in Canberra to address the legal needs of our local community. By doing so, she hopes to bridge the gap and provide accessible legal assistance to those who need it most.
In Courtney’s leisure time, she cherishes moments spent with her family, indulging in reading, honing her cooking skills, and taking leisurely walks with her beloved sausage dog, Clarence.
